View Full Version : ISO a rocket ship, please help

My DS who turns 5 this week told me he wants "a cool rocket ship that makes noise". I don't want to get anything babyish. I think he wants something realistic and I would prefer something not plastic. Toys R Us had nothing. Any suggestions?

My almost 4 year old got this for Christmas and both he and my 7 year old enjoy playing with it. It doesn't make noise but the little flying saucer does make sounds!

My older ds (5.5 at Christmas) also received the 1st one listed above. He plays with it every day. Every piece can be pulled apart and then reconfigured in many different ways. I think it's very realistic and very well made...it's been dropped and did not break at all. It is plastic however...

We have the International Playthings rocket and my 4 YO and 11.5 MO both LOVE it. The countdown is especially cool-sounding. Highly recommended.

Another vote for the International playthings rocket. Even though it's plastic.. my boys (3.5 & 1.5) LOVE the countdown when it's in take off position, and the flying sounds when you have it sideways. They received it for xmas, and really have played with it ALOT.

Another vote for the Mega Rig - it really is an awesome toy. My ds can play with it all day long. Every child who comes over to our house to play loves it as well. There are so many ways to connect the different pieces, make different types of space crafts. Very, very cool!!

DS recieved the Matchbox Mega Rig Space Shuttle from Santa and plays with it everyday! He loves it and I would definately recommend it. I actually just saw it over the weekend on clearance for only $19.99 at Meijer. I wish we had a birthday party for a boy coming up instead of a girl because I would have bought it for a gift.
