Dd#1 just broke my sunglasses, so I'm shopping for a new pair. I would love to buy something really fashionable and spend $100-200. Is this a waste? Are more expensive sunglasses sturdier than the cheap ones? Ever since I had dc#1 I haven't dared invest in a nice pair, but I'm trying to upgrade my wardrobe and would like sunglasses to match. :)

DH just gave me these for Valentines Day.

LOVE them. I wouldn't have spent that much for sunnies for myself but I was happy to accept them as a gift. :) If the Jackie O is not your style, there are others on the site that are also fabulous.

I do find more expensive sunglasses to be better quality. If you take care of them, they'll last for years and not be disposable ones like I've bought so many of in the past.

I LOVE these! I'm a little nervous about ordering glasses without being able to try them on in person (unfortunately we do not have a Martin and Osa store near us), but I'm not ruling it out. Thanks!

In the next couple of months, places like TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Nordstrom Rack will put out their designer sunglasses. I've purchased several pairs of very high end brands at places like that. Just look for glasses that are made in Italy (generally) and you can't go wrong! They generally carry Fendi, Gucci, Burberry, Mark Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and a few other brands I can't think of right now! I've had the best luck at Nordstrom rack.

You might also like the Boden sunglasses. I bought last year's model for 50% off in December sight unseen, and I love them! They're very sturdy, feel high quality and fit better than others I've had, including a $200 pair I bought once. I think they will be hard for my munchkins to break, which is important for me since I have preschool-aged twin boys who don't know their own strength.

This year's model looks a like it has a slightly more squared shape than last year's, but it's hard for me to tell for sure from the pictures. The price also went up $10 from last year but still a good deal, IMO.

Great suggestion. I also own the Boden sunglasses from last year, and the quality is great.
