My dh's godson is turning 6yo and his parents can't give me any ideas as to what he wants. They said he isn't really into "toys" lately, and they are trying not to encourage video games, etc... I know he loves sports and has lots of energy. Any ideas?

TIA!

Does he have stomp rockets? That's my go-to gift for kids that age.

DS is 6 and he loves board games. He is into building and creating things and his new favorite is MagNext by Mega. http://www.megabrands.com/Shop/Brands/MagNext_System/

Stomp Rocket would be fun if he likes to play outside.

Blokus is a thinking game that we have bought a few kids that age too.

I was going to suggest the same thing! All my kids love them. If you do get it, I would also buy the replacement pack too as they tend to get stuck in trees and on houses! Atleast ours do.

My 6-year old would love:

Any of the Nerf launcher toys
Lego
Pokemon cards, books
Bakugan figures
Gift cards (he loves picking out his own stuff) to bookstore or Target

He has a stomp rocket, too, and likes it.

Stomp Rockets are a huge hit at our house, as well as the set of bases I bought him (got at Learning Express, but they sell at Target too.) Lacross stick set, hockey stick set,... all a lot of fun too.

Favorite gift with the kids lately is McD's gift cards. They get there 1 time a month or so and love to use their 'credit cards.'

Got to love things that help them burn all their excess energy.
