not pregnant. do not have pancreatitis. liver function is normal. white count is normal. thyroid levels are normal. i am supposed to take prilosec otc. i asked the pharmacist if i could also take mylanta and she said i could, as needed during the day.

so i have taken the prilosec and two doses of mylanta and have only eaten crackers and chicken noodle soup and bread. i have thrown up once and now have horrible stomach aches, as well. which i didn't have at ALL until last night when i made the horrible mistake of eating a milkshake. so i can't seem to retain food no matter what i do.

dh met me at the park where i was with dylan after his teacher conference and he traded cars with me and i am at home i bed now.

i had BIG plans for this weekend- whole weekend in the 70's. i am not sure if i will get to do any of it. so i am pretty bummed.

I'm sorry the mysteries were not solved! I was hoping you would get some answers!

This will sound weird but in recent months my sister discovered that she is extremely sensitive to soy. If something even has soy lecithin in it she throws up, has diarrhea, and all sorts of unpleasantness. It also weakens her immune system and she catches more things that go around (pretty much if she is exposed briefly to a cold she catches it). It might be something to try eliminating for a few days. It is in so much that it can be a toughie. Just an idea though.

 This is one example when no news isn't really good news. I was hoping you'd get some answers.

I can't remember from your prior post(s) but did the doc evaluate your gall bladder? My secretary had to have her gall bladder removed and her symptoms sound very similar to yours. I remember she was sick as a dog for a while.

I am glad you will have some time to rest. I hope the meds kick in soon!

he did, thanks. he said because i didn't have any pain associated with the vomiting and because i didn't have any soreness when he pushed in it, he didn't think it was gallbladder.

also, didn't think virus because i had no fever or intestinal upset.

i am sorry i am such a whiner, everyone. gimme a few days and i will try to get the positive energy train back on the track.

Are you still dizzy? If so, maybe the nausea is springing from that.

Sorry everything is so screwy.

Any chance you got a case of food poisoning from something? Your milkshake comment reminds me of what happened to DH and I this summer. We got food poisoning from restaurant hamburgers and were sick as dogs for a good week+. Then we started feeling a little better but had similar reoccurances of stomach cramps/vomiting after we ate hamburgers again about a week later (we were traveling, so food choices were limited). My cousin also got food poisoning from some cheese, and she couldn't eat any dairy products without getting sick for several months. We had nausea, vomiting, dizziness and fatigue when it happened to us, but not really any intestinal issues.

I hope you start feeling better soon!

I'm sorry. I know you must be both disappointed and concerned. Try to enjoy the warm weather this weekend. Even if you feel like crap, go outside and soak up the sunshine.

So many of your symptoms sound like gastritis (which Prilosec should help after a few days). I'm actually just now recovering from a horrible bout of it, and so much of what you've said sounds exactly like how I felt. For me I think stress was really playing a huge factor into why I wasn't getting better. The first few days on the acid blocker I had stomach pains, but about day 3 I started feeling much better.

Either way, I am so sorry you are feeling miserable and don't know why. I really hope you start feeling better soon and that you are able to enjoy your weekend.

So sorry...how frustrating.

If it continues I would definitely go see a gastro. It could be gastroparesis, like Molly had mentioned in the other thread.

Hope you feel better soon!

We all know you'll be back in full force soon enough! ;)

So sorry no answers today. I hope you feel better soon. It's 80 here right now, and I took the guys out to play before their nap - and I think we all feel better after getting some sun. :) Maybe a little outside time will help you, too.

Thinking of you.

:yeahthat: Wanted to mention that I have IBS & GERD and it flares at the most wicked times - mostly when I'm stressed, but it has shown up randomly as well. I have had long bouts of vomiting with no other symptoms. I agree with checking with a gastro to get things squared away.

Ugh, that stinks! Not having answers makes it worse, I'm sure. :(
It does sound like your DH is a helpful--even if slow at times, a la gingerale--one. Hope he takes good care of you and lets you rest...tell him what he can do!
Hope you feel MUCH MUCH better VERY VERY soon!

Oh, Liza! I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have you seen a gastro specialist yet? Might be the time for it....

Please tell me you're keeping your electrolytes up with pedialyte or something similar.

thanks for the encouragement. i just heard DH talking to my doc (his friend) and he did use the word gastritis. the pharmacist said i wouldn't need the mylanta after a few days. what is hard is that i really haven't been stressed. i was sick- bronchitis- after being sick a number of times this winter. so that was hard on me physically. but emotionally, i am in the best place i have been in years!!

Hope you're feeling better soon! Try to rest when you can and sprinkle in a little of that warm weather--it at least might raise your spirits!
