DS insists on feeding himself, and ends up feeding our walls and floors at the same time. I'd like to get a splash mat to put beneath his high chair because I think it will be easier to clean mashed banana off of a mat instead of wood floors. Which mat do you recommend?

A plastic or vinyl tablecloth. Something that you can wash.

We were given an oilcloth mat to use for messy art projects and I used that. But I think those are expensive.

There are a couple of different varieties at BRU.

I use a shower curtain that I found in the back of my closet. It's a bright striped print so I like what it adds to the room too.

I used a twin sized flat sheet, folded in half. I loved that I could step out back and shake it and then just throw it in the washer. :D

I just bought some generic plastic one from BRU, and it was a pita to clean- worse than the floor imo. I think something machine washable would be a much better idea.

We also use a sheet. That way I can just throw it in the washer and not have to get down on my hands and knees and wipe it down...

I like the oilcloth ones from LON. I found similar ones on ETsy, but have yet to order. They look more sturdy and have fun prints. Don't know what oilcloth is made of, does anyone know if it has PVC in it?

ETA: The plastic one from BRU was a PITA to clean up and I felt it never really got clean. I did use it for DS though.
