Gogo kidz Travelmate question

I am considering getting a travelmate for my DS who is 2 1/2. I have a couple of questions.

1. Will the travelmate work well with a tall child? I'm wondering if his feet would end up dragging on the floor.

2. Do I need to take the travelmate off to get the carseat installed on the plane?

1) If there feet hang off the bottom of the carseat, then their feet could also touch the floor. But my DD sits cross-legged when in the gogo so it is not an issue (tall almsot 4 year old).

2) You do not HAVE to take it off to install on the airplane. In some planes it might be easier or you might need to ask for an extender to install it. I've had the FA ask me to take it off, too, before. But it isn't a big deal to do that, just unscrew a screw and it's off.
