are totally my style. I've seen them on others and love them. Who sells them?

I mean the floor-length casual sundressy-type dresses. TIA!

IIRC from last year, Gap and Old Navy both had some.

Just bought some at Ross and TJMaxx for like $15 each! They work great and are the most comfortable maternity clothes I own!! I'm now swearing off pants at 7.5 months along!!

I saw several at Macy's yesterday. They were the INC brand, I think. I love Maxi-dresses, but at 5'3, I just can't pull them off. I glanced at them wistfully yesterday!

Victoria's Secret always has a bunch of cute ones, but I'm not sure on the quality.

I got this one and love it! Can't wait to wear it.

I've also seen them at Old Navy and lots of other places while browsing catalogs and at the mall lately. They're definitely a trend this year and I love it!

Thanks, all!
I'll check those stores. I ducked into a trendy boutique and Nordstrom Rack today, but both only had silk maxis.

The one that inspired me to post was in the VS catalog, but I have no way to test fit or quality and have a feeling I'd be disappointed in both.

Gypsy 05 is THE brand to wear if you into maxi dresses. There are so many diffrent styles and colors. Some are made from organic cotton. Celebrities LOVE them. Prices start ~$100 retail but can be found on sale/with code for less.

BTW maxi dress trend is on the way out from what I've hear but many people still wear them.

Darn it, how can it be going out when the weather hasn't been nice enough yet for to even try it!?! Not all of us live in LA. sniff, sniff.

That was my fear because I started seeing them last summer. Still... I can get a couple for this summer and not feel too out of it.
Thanks for the rec. I also found one in the Athleta catalog.

Thank you!! That's the one I saw last year on someone that inspired me to look for one. The Gap and BR ones are NMS. I prefer a v-neck and cotton.

Just curious - what do you do about a bra? My nice, perky chest is now just a shadow of it's former self so going without isn't an option.

I'm guessing that you can't wear a bra with this style. :(

I've worn nu-bra with dresses like these before but I'm small-chested so I don't need much support. I've seen similar bras that you stick on with larger cups that may offer more support.

Or, you could use a convertible bra and use the halter option with clear straps.

I prefer the v-neck style, too, but unless I want to look like a stripper and embarass my kids, I need to cover up some of that cleavage! I tried some of those on at Old Navy and it reached the "inappropriate" level of exposure, LOL!

Gorgeous! And definitely a better neckline for keeping everything under wraps. I wish the ones at ON worked because the $20 price works much better than the $100+ price, BUT the styles and fabrics are definitely far more beautiful and stylish. Sometimes you get what you pay for, huh?

Express has a variety of maxi dresses out already -- mainly halters and strapless:

Personally, I'd buy something if I liked it enough even if it were not "on trend". Like purple was very popular last year, and is probably not going to be as popular this year, but I've always liked purple, even when it was not "in" so I picked up a few purple items last year. I did not buy anything expensive (OK, the purse was not cheap but not outrageous either) and I wore each one of them a lot so I don't regret buing a trendy color.

I tend to wear things that I like over and over again. And stuff that I don't like stays in the closet. I am not that young so that I could get away with wearing cheap things and now that I've tried better things I have trouble going back. So I shop sales, outlets and look for codes/coupons. Occasionally, I'll even :gasp: pay retail.

So if you love a Gypsy dress and you know you are going to wear it a lot - go for it. And while the weather is still cool check out codes, there was one posted that expired on March 14th ($50 off $250) and one for Valentine Day (25% off). Sign up for e-mails with Gypsy 05 site.

Here are some of the discounts that I found on tPF. You'd have to check if they work:

Use code "grechen20" for 20% off orders of $100 or more, grechen15 for 15% off orders under $100
http://www.shopthetrendboutique.com/gypsy05.html

Blueheavenboutique is having a 20% off sale selected Gypsy 05 items but no free shipping and no returns on any items whatsoever just store credit.

Check for discount codes for winknyc - I think there is one right now for 15% off and they carry some Gypsy 05.
