A bucket of salmon? (here, chum is a particular species of salmon).

I'm hoping he meant it in a good way.... ;)

I am guessing that he meant "scum bucket," but that's just a guess.

Hmmm, I'm not sure whether I'd rather be called a "scum bucket" or "chum bucket." Cute.

I was just thinking how impressed I am with his vocabulary. If one of my kids said that to me I know I'd give them a high 5 and say how proud I am of them for their vocab.

Then, right after that I'd be asking if they meant that in a good way. ;)

Lol, well it could've been worse, I thought you were going to say he said a bad swear word. I'm take chum/scum bucket of a lot of other things. My 3.5 yr old calls ppl (including me), Mr. Boosthoff when he is mad at that person. It has been driving my DH and I crazy, b/c we have no clue who Mr. Boosthoff is. Is he imaginary, or is he a character from some book? Either way, it's obvious that it's meant as an insult of some sort...

My DS calls us "Poopy Diaper heads" when he is really mad (i.e. doesn't get his way). DH thinks it's awesome that he came up with the toddler version of "sh*ithead". Great.

I'm sort of disappointed... I thought he would dig deeper... (J/K!!)

Chum Bucket... I guess it really could be worse.

At least he is original! This morning DD1 called me a "mean poopy head" and followed it up with an "I hate you," just because I wouldn't fix her a new bowl of cereal after she changed her mind and wanted a different kind. Someone please remind me why I wanted three kids.

WOW... That would NEVER fly at my house. Im the mom of 4 boys and I view calling me something like that as TOTAL disrespect. There would have been some serious repercussion for lipping off in that manner.

Yeah, not too sure how to take that! But I have to say that the alliteration is fairly impressive ("bucket...bloody...bait...") :ROTFLMAO: Obviously don't know the circumstances, but I'd guess he was just tickled with the words and the way they sound put together. Kids tend to latch on to funny-sounding phrases and go around repeating them a lot, regardless of the (in)appropriateness of the meaning to the situation!

My son fired me yesterday. "You do not have a job as my mother anymore! You are FIRED!" This is not a child who has any idea who Donald Trump is, FWIW. And he still didn't get the d@mn ice cream he was whining for.
