I have read previous threads, but still have some questions. 4.5 year old DS wants the Playmobil Knight's Empire, but I am worried that he might have trouble manipulating the parts.

I looked at Fisher Price's Imaginext Castle, but it seems to be a hard-to-find item. Does anyone know what happened to it? It looks like it is supposed to retail for $30-$40, but the only place it is in stock is Amazon, which is selling it for $119.00!! What is the deal?

Someone mentioned the Imaginarium Medieval Castle which looks huge, but neat. Does anyone have this and would it fit on a train table? It has gotten really good reviews...

Thanks for your help!

We have the Imaginext one. Amazon is ridiculous when it comes to hard to find items. I bet you might be able to find it on the shelves at some stores. We really like it here.

Where are you located? If you google "imaginext castle craigslist", all craigslist ads come up and you can see if one might be closeby....

In my experience, the fisher price toys hold up really well and are great to buy used!

Good luck,
Erin

My son's school has one like the imaginext one and he loves it. I found him an old fisher price one from a thrift store for $2 and he really enjoys that as well. He still hopes for the "big" playmobil one for his birthday....but mama doesn't want that big of a castle and it is too much $$$.

I'd look for used--ebay, consignment sales, etc.
