Seriously. I can't stand her and I will be soooo freakin' happy when my girls move to their new daycare. Counting down the months (days). I hope to never lay eyes on that woman ever again. My girls will be unhappy because they really like her, but I CAN.NOT.STAND.HER. @#$%

Oh I'm sorry. I bet you'll have to put on a sad face as the girls will be upset, but be jumping for joy on the inside. How many days to go???

Four months. OMG, I might seriously end up in the funny farm by then.

I left the office yesterday at noon because she @#$% refused to give DD#1 medical care. Ventolin for asthma, prescribed by a dr. WTF? DCP said it wasn't asthma it was a cold. Um, yeah, that's why when I got DD#1 home and gave her a treatment, she was fine within 5 minutes. Yeah. Its a cold.

I just got home from spending the day at Children's in the allergy clinic. Yeah, its asthma, just like our specialist previously diagnosed. He was apoplectic. Seriously. He could not believe this piece of work.

I would love to yank my girls out of there, but they are most definitely going to a new daycare as of September 1 (with a gradual August entry and camps for them), so I just don't think that switching to a new daycare now and then another one after the end of July would be in their interest.

The dr sent notes home today, which DH has already dropped off at the DCP. One more @#$^ incident like this and I'm calling the cops AND licensing. I'm seriously considering calling licensing anyway, though I think she would just lie.

Oh, and my DD#1 now tells me that for the past while, all they do is watch TV. That is most DEFINITELY NOT in my contract -- in fact, it explicitly says that they don't do that and they follow a curriculum. Niiiiice.

I'm so freakin' mad, its not funny.

Oh, and last year about this time, DCP "diagnosed" DD#1 with chickenpox. Um, yeah, not so much.

Possibly people who aren't doctors shouldn't be diagnosing children AT ALL.

Holy crap, bubbaray. That DCP sounds awful. However, I am starting to believe in childcare karma - - before my current amazing nanny, I had a deranged college babysitter for two months (you may recall my posts on this) who literally decimated my peace of mind. And after that, super nanny appeared. So, you are due a great child care situation.

As for your DCP, can you send her u-tube vides of asthma attacks or something that would impress upon her that she does NOT want an asthma attack to happen on her watch. Also, if she needed to take your DC to the hospital for an asthma/respiratory issue is there coverage for her to do that? I think the safety aspect of this whole situation is very troubling and can see why you are beside yourself.

Thanks. The protocol for their food allergies is epipen then 911 -- they would be taken to the hospital via ambulance and DH/I would have to meet the ambulance at the hospital. I don't know if she would go with the child or what. Her DH does the backup care for the other kids at times, so mabe he would do so?? I'm not sure she's ever had to administer an EpiPen IRL (she is trained, its part of the 1st aid training that is mandatory for her license).

The whole idea of the asthma meds is that they are administered so that the hospital isn't necessary. She claims to have had many children in her care over the past 25 yrs, yet she d/n know that DD#1 was having an asthma attack yesterday?? I dunno how to deal with that.

Thankfully, the specialist changed DD#1 to a long-term steroid for allergy season (Flovent), which should prevent the need for ventolin in the future. Or so I'm told.

 I would be tempted to rip her a new one over the asthma issue, but I hear you on not wanting to move your DDs twice between now and Sept. Not a fun thing to be dealing with :(

OMG! Hugs to you. Isn't she also the DCP who makes you use pullups for your DD#2 rather than letting her pt in panties? I don't like her -- she sucks.

Yeah.

She'd better not intentionally mess up DD#2's PTg (DD#2 has to be PTd to go to the new daycare) or I really WILL rip DCP a new one.

Sigh.

I'm sooooo not diplomatic and I did *kinda* lose it today. It wasn't pretty. DD#1 was upset. I'm sure I'm the talk of DCP's neighbors, as I left screaming at her "you withheld medical treatment from my child".

Tomorrow is another day. Just think, I get to see her in a mere matter of hours. Lucky me.

It sounds like she really sucks. Hope these 4 months fly by with no further incidents!

I would definitely report the incident to the licensing agency or whoever is in charge of daycare providers.

Clearly she is not attentive as she should be and thank god your dc's asthma attack was not worse.

It should help but it may not eliminate the need entirely. We had to play around with a few different inhaled steroids for Sarah to find one that 1) worked well for her and 2) did not cause behavioral issues. Sarah did have minor behavioral issues with Flovent, so just be aware.

I totally hear you on not wanting to move your kiddos twice in such a short period of time, but I think I'd be really tempted to do that if I were in your shoes. She sounds awful. And, I can't believe she lets them watch TV too. Hugs to you.

OMG, I would so be feaking out on her for not admin medication to my child. She is not a doctor who can make those decisions!
