The ped called DH and the pee sample came back normal. Turns out it was contaminated with poo, but somehow they were able to use it. Not sure how that worked, but we're relieved. So I guess she had brown pee from dehydration. Thanks for all your advice.

I just changed DD's pee-only dirty diaper and the diaper had a brown stain, like the pee was brown. Is this cause for alarm? I know white poo is bad, what about brown pee? It is the color of the blood on Day 1 of AF. TMI, sorry... I'm worried about everything these days.

I was told by the Nurse at the Peds. office that if DC's pee was a dark yellow/brown that DC is dehydrated. How old is DD?

22 mos... That's crazy with as much apple juice/ water blend she drinks, but maybe. I will push the fluids and check the next diaper. Do you think that is enought, or should I call right away?

Is she on any meds? I would call the ped office asap.

Sounds like dehydration as the PP said. How old? Is the baby sick at all? Fever? Any odd colored foods or new foods introduced this weekend? Does the urine have any odd smells? I might save the diaper, just in case the ped wants to see you...

Certain meds can make her pee turn color. I would call ped and get advice just to ease your mind

She is 22 mos. No new foods. She did trow up on Fri night. A Choc pedia sure drink. But she was acting normally and had no other symptons. We figured it might have been gas or maybe she gaged herself (she has been doing this lately) and we missed it.

Oh jeez, I so do not need anything more to freak out over today...

She is probably dehydrated. Push fluids on her. When my kids are dehydrated, I let them drink as much juice as they want (I don't usually let them have that much juice). I care more about them drinking enough when they are feeling sick than eating, b/c they will make up for not eating when they feel better again. I hope that you figure out what is going on and she feels better soon. You don't think that maybe there was some very liquidy diarrhea mixed in do you... b/c that could be another reason it looks brown, esp if she has a tummy bug.

Call. Do what you've described, but call.

Could it be a urinary tract infection (UTI)? I know that UTIs can result in discolored, bloody pee. Could it be old blood?

Ok, I just changed the second diaper. Very full because I gave her 2 juice boxes. It was normal. No brown.

The first (brown diaper) was her overnight one. I am sure it was not liquid poo because it was only at the very front of the diaper. If it was poo, it would have gotten on the back too when it came out the rear hole. But at least now she has had a normal diaper. I will watch the next one, too.

I also called the doc. I am waiting for the call back. THANK YOU for all the advice.
