We've flown with our little girl before, but never more than 3 hours and she wasn't as mobile. At eighteen months she's a bit more...feisty. The flight back from Hawaii is an overnight, but the flight to Hawaii is a nine hour non-stop all day trip. And we're looking for advice.

We did purchase her own seat, but we're wondering about using a car seat. On the plus side she would be secure. On the negative side, the entire seat would be taken up with this enormous car seat.

Can we bring milk on board? She still likes to have a bottle before naps.

We've discussed the issue of getting her drowsy for the flight, Benadryl or Dramamine. Is this an "under no circumstances" or is this a "have one in your pocket just in case"?

And how do you keep an 18 month old in one place for so many hours?

DEFINITELy take the car seat. She'll be in a place she's comfortable with, and used to staying still. And she won't fit the seat seatbelt at all well.

You'll want to plan to get up and move around with her. 9 hours is a HUGE amount of time to stay in one place (Oh and be prepared for her not to sleep on the overnight either)
