We have a castle cake mold that is DS's hands-down favorite. http://tinyurl.com/c9yggf

He has requested a "castle cake" for each birthday since he could talk. The mold is cute, but next to impossible to clean. We use spray before baking, but still some cake gets baked on. Getting into the turrets and the peaked roof is a pain. The best tool I have found is to use an old spin toothbrush, but that can't get into the smaller areas. I had to use q-tips this last time around. The q-tips bend too easily though.

I'm looking for a long handled stiff narrow brush with bristles at the top. Any suggestions?

Maybe an artist's paint brush with the bristles cut down? I remember my mom had some that were pretty stout.

I use an artist brush for things like that- like the lids to Playtex Sippy cups- where milk and schmutz tends to collect....

The longer the bristles the better!

The Dr. Brown's Bottle Cleaning Brushes (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2792579) are great for stuff like that. We are long past bottle days but I still keep some around for cleaning certain things.

I second the Wilton cake decorating tip cleaner... I use it for lots of little crevices, I like that it has a brush-like and a pipe-cleaner-like end...
