DS only wants to eat spooned foods if I put the spoon in his hand and guide it to his mouth. which takes FOREVER! Is there a good spoon that he can use himself? (I have to guide him because the litle Gerber spoons will gag him if I don't)

We use the Sassy 'Less Mess' spoons.

Those are exactly the ones we use for self feeding. They're lightweight and food seems to stick onto them better. DS still uses one for cereal, which really cuts down on the milk mess.

Are they the ones with holes in them? We love those, then we move to the Bjorn bowl and spoon set with the matching bib! It really helps them learn to self-feed.
