DD is 8 1/2 mo and her moro reflex or startle reflex diminshed around the three or four month mark. We stopped swaddling around 5 months. She has never really slept well since we stopped swaddling, but she sleeps 5-6 hours at night now, then has a rough patch for 2-4 hours and usually gets back in to a good sleep just an hour or two before it is time for her to get up in the a.m. She has never napped well.
She recently evaluated at 91 percentile for fine motor skills and language and socio-cognitive development but only 37 percentile for gross motor skills. She does not crawl.
In the last ten days, DH and I, as well as her daycare providers, have all noticed an increase in her startle reflex as she is going off to sleep. She has been sick and she is teething, but I don't see how that would affect it.
Anyone have any idea on why her startle reflex would sudden come back???
