I'm not sure which forum to put this in, but I figured I'll start with this one. I'm looking for one of those tube-type flotation devices that would be suitable for my 7 month old. The ones that completely encompass (sp?) the baby and has a shade to block the sun. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

This one has good recommendations on Amazon. Apparently some people replied you can get it cheaper at Target. . .

But it says 9 months +

apparently this one has good reviews for children under 9months (less reviews than one above though)

I have the one in the first link (the blue and yellow one). I think my mom bought it for me at Target. I used it with our then 8 month old when we went to visit my parents in AZ.

I liked that its shade could be moved (and fastened in the back or front, for when the sun is lower in the sky). That said, I still put sun screen on him, because the shade doesn't completely cover every part of a kid if you're moving around the pool and turning them in different directions as you push them around. We put a towel behind DS's back to get a tighter fit, but I thought size-wise, other than that it was fine at the time he probably weighed about 18 pounds. He really enjoyed it--so much that we swam every day, some days multiple times!

swimways spring float! We had one without the cover... it was the only one we could find at the time. It is great. I think you can use them with a 7 month old.... it's not like you are going to be sending baby off to float alone in the pool... you will be right there! The nice thing about these as opposed to an inflatable is that they are really in the water... they can feel it through the mesh... my older DS didn't like his floaty inflatable boat thing cause really only his bottom and legs were in the water... he couldn't really splash around... the spring float is SO much better. this is the one we have
