I have to be very careful and keep the sun off my face. I have a good sunscreen, but I'd like to get a facial moisturizer with a high spf as well for daily wear. I'd prefer something without all the nasty stuff in it. Recommendations?

I use Cetaphil facial moisturizer with SPF 15 and Parsol 1789.

I just saw on their website that they also have a new facial moisturizer
out that has UVA and UVB defense and SPF 50. (It states on their
website that this moisturizer has the highest SPF in a moisturizer
designed specifically for the face.)
I may have to give this new formula a try!

I use Clinique City Block. It's a titanium dioxide-based 25 SPF (physical, not chemical block). It doesn't make you sweat the way most physical blocks do, and it has an extremely light tint that prevents your face from turning white from the titanium dioxide. I'm very very fair and the tint does not show up on my face.

The also have an SPF 40 version of City Block, but from everything I've read no sunscreen can be more effective than SPF 30..... so I go with the lower number for comfort's sake.

This sunscreen is also titanium dioxide based.

I used to use Kiehl's which had sunscreen in it (15 I think) and it was nice. I stopped using it for several reasons, including trying to get control of my eczema. I have no idea how it scores chemical/yucky stuff wise, though as I think it's one of many brands that are just not entered into the EWG database yet.

Wellyes, by any chance do you know if the SPF40 version of the City Block is the same formula as the 25 (chemical free). It doesn't say so on the Clinique site and I can't find the info elsewhere. It does, however, state so on the 25.

Recently got this from my dermatologist:

I tried to get some of this (spf 50) at Walgreens b/c they had a coupon in their supersaver booklet, but they were already out of stock (or didn't have any in the first place.

It's non-greasy and really works well for me. Whenever friends have visited, they often try it out of curiosity, and I know several of my friends have switched to this lotion because of sampling mine.

Jamie,

Where do you buy this?

My Cetaphil moisturizer also has the Parsol 1789 which my dermatologist likes.

But I would love a higher SPF. My moisturizer only has 15 SPF.

Sounds like this Peter Roth brand would cover both the higher SPF
and the Parsol 1789.

Thanks!

I use this eucerin everyday lotion. It's nice and light.
