make it hard to poop and pass gas?

newborn kelly thomas strains to poop and pass gas. screams like crazy. farts or poops and seems at ease. this is #2 and #1 had trouble too, but nothing like this.

i am crazy about making sure the diaper is tight enough, so as too avoid leaks. since i have been easing up, he seems better.

anyone have any actual knowledge on the digestive tract of a newborn? tia

It probably just makes the gas (already there) more uncomfortable.

My newborn DD also has a tough time with gas and poop and then seems perfectly content after it has passed. Poor little babies! :)
