Hi - I'm looking for a table and chair set (with 2-4 chairs) for DD's playroom. DD is 16 months now, but I'm looking for something that she can use for the next few years.

Any suggestions on best quality, best deal? TIA!

We have the honey colored PBK carolina table and chairs too and highly recommend them. They look great after a few years of use. I also like that adults can sit on the chairs too (they can hold up to 250 lbs I think). They are definitely not cheap, but very sturdy! I would also consider the Kidkraft ones. I've purchased a lot of Kidkraft items since getting the PBK table and have been really impressed by the quality for the price.

We have this activity table and the beanbag chairs for my daughter's playroom:

We like having the attached paper roll and the bins underneath to store things.
I like that you can later add taller legs and chairs to make it a medium size table:

or a schooldesk:

Expensive but I think it will last a long time.

We got the kidkraft avalon pieces from Walmart in black. I like the way they look, and the quality is fine. I just don't feel comfy sitting in the chairs, and I don't know how much they should hold.

The ones I got seem a little tall for our kids right now, even though we've had it a while. You may want to try sitting your DD at the different chair heights to see what I mean. There is a "toddler size" vs a Kindergarten size, and sometimes I wish I'd gotten the smaller one, even though I'd be replacing it with the larger size later.

Kidkraft does make some toddler sized ones at a reasonable price.

I bought a table from a school supply website with adjustable legs. This way, the table can grow with the kids. We're currently using personalized chairs crom CB or PBK (I can't remember which) but they were only $15 each at the time.

The table was about $100 and it fits 6 chairs, but I figure it'll last them for a long time, and when they're done with it, I'll be able to use it for parties, garage sales, etc.

good luck!

We also have the honey land of nod table with paper roll. Expensive but its a lovely table and it grows with your child (to a taller table and then a desk).

Thanks so much for the recommendations! You guys are great!!! I was considering the PBK chair/table set, as we have some other PBK furniture and love it. Do you know when PBK offers the F&F discount time? Or, is my best bet to open a PBK charge or do some type of registry to get a discount?

The Land of Nod table is also cute... choices, choices!

Thanks again!

This is the one we have. We had a small set when DS was 1yr and upgraded when he turned 3. I'm very pleased with the price and quality. This store has quite a few sets to browse as well.

I love the Ikea Mammut table and chairs, and I am not even an Ikea type person. I have more traditional furniture, like Ralph Lauren style. The reason I like it so much is it is easy to clean and the big reason we got it was because it has all rounded corners on the table and chairs. At the time we got it my younger son was just learing to walk and I didn't want him falling on corners of wooden chairs or the table itself. We have the rectangle red table with 2 red chairs but there are a lot of combinations...you can also do stools or the round table. Adults can sit on the chairs too with out worrying about breaking them. It's cute and cartoon looking. Good luck in your search!!

If your looking for a wooden set with quality hands down its the Little Colorado sets. the table is a nice size, a bit larger, ideal for art projects and the chairs are nice and dont tip. There's been quite a few posts on this board about it.

I was going to purchase a kidkraft table from walmart, but found this new one online. No reviews yet, but I love the look and the cubbies under the table for supplies.
