Maine legalizes same-sex marriage (http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/05/06/maine.same.sex.marriage/)

I know there will still be hurdles to overcome, but I am so happy and proud today! :cheerleader1:GO MAINE!! :cheerleader1:

Wahoo! GOOO MAINE!!!!

There was actually a bunch of walabaloo (read 'over conservative uptight Texan rhetoric') on our local news about it. They are all hoping that the New Hampshire governor decides not to sign their bill.

Sometimes I really want to move to a blue state. :)

We are just waiting for the gov to sign on next door. It is lonely being the only holdout in NNE.

I'm proud of Maine too and I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong with CA. You'd think it would be the first state to legalize gay marriage. Why can't they get it together. So sad.

Sadly, I think it's because outside of LA and SF and the coast, CA is highly conservative. We've got a "blue state" mentality in the major metro areas, but the rest of the state is solidly red state. I mean, I STILL can't explain how the Terminator is now our Governor. Seriously. I'm embarrassed to be a Californian at times....

I keep reading that there is some question as to whether he will sign or veto. Hope he signs!

Yay Maine!!! Rhode Island has to get on the bandwagon so that all of New England will allow gay marriage.

Sadly, I don't think my home state of Virginia is going there anytime soon.
