I am going to give out Board Books for DS's first birthday. All the children will be between one and two. Does anyone have any ideas for where to get good deals?

Check out half.com. It is affiliated with ebay, books are much less expensive there!

If you don't mind remainder marks, sortfloor.com has great prices on books. The site is cumbersome to navigate, but the deals are well worth the hassle.

sortfloorbooks.com seem to have the best prices on board books.

Check out your local Ross or Borders - you can get some good deals at both places for board books you could use as party favors.

for a varied selection, try TJ Maxx or Ross, although I think sortfloor probably has them cheaper

YOu might check and see if your library system has a used book store that sells extras! We have one in the Portland area....Titlewave books- and it has fabulous deals!

I agree. You can probably get books for $1.50 to $2 each.

:yeahthat:

I've gotten a bunch at Target - some "concept" board books, like Colors, Shapes, etc, and also another few that were fairy tale types, like Lady & The Tramp, Alice & Wonderland. They'd be great favors!

We just went to a party and received Sesame Street board books as favors from Target.

If you want to avoid the black reminder mark then order the boxed sets from sortfloorbooks.com. The black mark should be on the BOX not the books. The ones that I have ordered are the finger puppet ones (4 books for $9):

http://www.sortfloorbooks.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=714802&keyword=boxed+set&searchby=keyword&offset=0&fs=1&CLSN_2564=124201185025640aaa26e002d3be7a1c

Often, they have the mini-master art ones in boxed sets but I am not seeing those right now.

Also, sortfloor is having 10% off of $25 and free shipping right now.

I did the same for my ds's birthday. Our dollar store has a good selection of $1 board books. Target often has board books in the $1 bin.

This might be a little too young for your crowd, but I just bought some little chunky board books from Michaels. They were a set of 3 board books (I think by Priddy) which had one picture per page (i.e. pear, ball, etc). The pack of 3 was just under $3.00. They often have the same dollar books Target has too. Often times either store has matching stickers which can also be popular with the age group.

Check the Dollar Tree. I've found the Sesame Street books with the squeakers there, including others.

Thanks those are some great ideas. I had never heard of sortfloorbooks.com. It looks like it could be quite addicting. I totally forgot about the local Scholastic Warehouse having a sale. I am going to check that out and then check out the rest of the suggestions.
