Backpack?

I realize it is pretty small, but I am looking to downsize for short outings and moving away from diapers (hopefully) we seem to be needing less space. I like that it looks like it would hold two sippy cups on the sides. TIA for any input!!

No one? I realize it's technically not a diaper bag....but for $40 I might just give it a try.

Looks like that is the Pixie, which is the newer version of the Duchess (older style backpack). It has similar organization of the Duchess - which is to say not much. Unlike the Duchess it does have the padded laptop compartment, which is nice if you will be toting a laptop. Otherwise, that compartment just adds a bit of bulk.

If the straps are like that on the Duchess, they are super comfy. And yes, sippies should fit in the side pockets, another huge plus. But I ended up getting rid of my Duchess because it was just too small (felt like something I would have worn in junior high) plus had no organization.

I have never been able to find a good medium size lightweight backpack with excellent organization AND excellent quality (Skip Hop Via backpack was the worst in terms of quality - fell apart in a few days - but had great organization). Most medium sized backpacks have either quality or organization, but not both.

I'd go for it but just know that it's on the small side and you'll need to organize with other bags (or be prepared to dig around).

Thanks for the feedback on the Pixie (yep that's it). I don't have a laptop so I was wondering how annoying that pocket might be. I guess it would be totally useless unless I think of something awesome to put there.
I'm also glad (and sad) to hear your feedback on the Via backpack. I'd had my eyes peeled for a deal on it, but sorry that the quality is no good.
I may still go for the Pixie. I'm looking to downsize and I DO love the way it looks.
Thanks!!!!

Here's a nice review of the Pixie (scroll half way down the page).

They have them on ebay for $42.99 w/ free shipping, and at ebags with free returns, so you could try it out and if it doesn't work, return it.

Good luck! If you get one, let us know what you think!

Oooooh Thanks! That's a great review with all those pictures. I googled it but didn't come up with anything; I know BBB would come through! Decisions, decisions....

Another option for a small backpack is a JJB MiniBe. It looks small but you can fit a lot in it and the straps are very comfy. I can carry a sippy and skinny water bottle in the outer pockets, my wallet, cell phone. BeQuick with several dipes for 2 yr. old and infant and soft wipes pack, spare infant outfit, snack for the toddler, receiving blanket, burp cloth, paci, and a small infant toy. You can find EUC for $50-60 right now in the Pink Room at the Ju Ju Be website. Love how you can machine wash them if they get dirty :)
