Organic cotton odor?

Has anyone experienced this?

A few months ago I bought a couple of quilts for DS1. He has used one and I noticed when I first put it into his duvet it had a bit of an odd odor. I ran it through the dryer on the no-heat (fluff) setting just to air it out a bit and figured it would dissipate pretty quickly. I took it off his bed to wash and it still definitely has that distinct smell to it. Fairly unpleasant. It almost smells like rancid walnuts or something.

Anyone experience anything like this? Any ideas?

No, I've never smelled that sort of odor on any organic cotton items. Can you contact the person/company you purchased from and find out if they have any suggestions?

Hmmmm, my first guess was sizing or factory smells, but you've washed it and it still smells funky? That seems strange to me. I agree with the PP, I'd call the manufacturer and ask what they thought.
