I haven't bought a seat for an infant in a while -
didn't the seats used to be 1/2 price?
when did that change -
I know that they take up the same amount of space as anyone else using the seat - but buying 5 seats is killing me!

*** just bought the 5 tickets - flying in February fresh in my mind - did not enjoy an active 8 month old all over me - and no where to go on the airplane!
hopefully strapped in a seat - or the extra space will help with my sanity!

The half price infant thing went away a long time ago for most airlines (last time we got it, DS1 was 2.5mo). Southwest may still do it, but it is not half the cheap price on their website, it is half of a much bigger number. We always buy tix for our babies, too, but I am soooo not looking forward to buying 6 airplane tix...

I think it depends on the airline, the route, the phase of the moon ;), etc. I would call and ask and not try to figure it out online. But, I agree with pp, they probably take the discount off of a higher price so you will need to do the math to see what works best.
