In addition to your local library, here are a few other summer reading programs to check out. Please list others you may find! :reading:

Scholastic

Kids log their reading minutes to earn points which can be used for sweepstakes, prizes and charity donations.

Barnes & Noble
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/
Kids earn a free book (from a list of eligible titles) when they read 8 books of their choosing. 5/26-9/7/09, 1 free book per child, grades 1-6 only.

Borders

Kids can earn a discounted book ($5 from a select list) by reading 8 books of their choosing. 12 years and under. 5/26-8/31/09.

Half Price Books

Kids can earn a $3 GC each week by reading 15 min./day. 6/1-7/31/09, ages 12 and under.

TD Bank
http://www.tdbank.com/summerreading/
Kids can earn $10 (to be deposited into child's new or existing Young Savers account) by reading 10 books by 9/30/09. Must take form in to local TD Bank store.

Pottery Barn Book Club (ongoing)

Kids of all ages are invited to attend story time at PB stores. After attending five story times, kids receive a gift.

Thanks for posting that! My kids love our library's summer reading program! Too bad the B&N one starts in 1st grade, my kids are still too young.
