LOL!!!! OMG!!!!! I did this when I was a kid! It seemed like it took days, and I remember a hospital stay.....and ALMOST having to have surgery........but it passed! I don't remember specifically, but I am guessing 4-5 days for mine...but I remember there was some concern about it being lodged; hence the hospital stay and being prepped for surgery.

This too shall pass.....

Sorry, couldn't help myself! Hang in there mama....but be prepared to have to dig through poop until it clears!

 Oh, my.....

This one's for you ;): :popc1:

Seriously, I wouldn't think more than a couple of days. I think I'd feed him things he *loves* so he'll go more often and possibly get it out sooner.

Sorry. :(

I would also say to NOT feed bananas as its a known constipator. Lots of fruit juices, high fiber, and be on the lookout for signs that the marble is stuck (abd pain, no poop, abdominal bloating, vomitting)

Oh. No.
Here's hoping that the "this too shall pass" is very, very true in your case!

I know kids who have passed dice. I would just be feeding high fiber foods. Fiber One bars are great. Let us know how it turns out!!!

I'd get a big strainer too to catch the poop just to make sure you see it pass!

A friend of ours had to do this make sure that the object passed (it was a heart locket) and to make sure no pieces had broken off (am sure the marble will stay in one piece), it wasn't one of those big ones was it???

Well, not sure about a marble, but I can tell you how long it takes for a quarter to pass through a 17 yr old girl. 2 days, 14 hours and a handful of minutes!

Yep, I swallowed a quarter New Year's Eve in Lake Tahoe during my Senior year of
high school. I was a hell raiser!

It took DS NINE days to pass two pennies when he was four. NINE freaking days!!! And he was not constipated. We think the pennies just kept sinking to the bottom and not getting picked up along the way. LOL

TMI: A kitchen strainer, rubber gloves, and ziplock bags (for mushing it around to check) were our friends.

I hope it all works out in the end and he doesn't wind up the butt of too many jokes from this ordeal. ;)

That's nothing, Karen! We had to do the same with our dog's poop when we thought she'd eaten my wedding ring....

Sounds like you have a pretty shi#$y job to do, Susan.

What are you going to do with the marble after retrieval?? Do you think Nick will learn his lesson?

STOP ALREADY! Blaeach! I deal with a lot of poop, and I think I have a good attitude about it, but scrutinizing the poo is above and beyond the call of duty.

I would hope that a marble is obvious.
