Baby grinding or gritting teeth?

My 10 mo old has been grinding her little for front teeth periodically for the last couple of weeks. The sound makes me want to scream. I am worried she'll hurt herself, and concerned about what is causing this.

Anyone have ideas or info?

DD2 did this a few months back, and I really think it's a phase. I think she was just getting used to the feeling of having teeth, and the grinding was a novelty to her. She has since stopped doing it. I don't think there's anything to be concerned about.

There was a similiar thread a few months ago. My DS did it also but no longer. I agree they must just be getting used to those strange things in the mouth.

She will stop, and I am told it won't damage the teeth or mouth.
