Masking Tape Dispenser- Can you help me find a cheaper alternative??

DD is into masking tape right now. But she gets frustrated easily that she can't hold the roll, hold the loose end of the tape and cut it (either without help or without it getting twisted). I would love to find her a masking tape dispenser. I do know of this one--- the art teacher at the school where I taught had one

But it's $50. Certainly not in the art budget right now. They have to make something similar --probably not marketed to education. Even an individual color one might work , although I would love one that would hold more than one roll.

or you could try hacking a paper or paper towel holder like this one from Ikea:

Maybe two of these stuck together, so the rolls are on two rods and are more stable? Looks like that might work.

I just back from IKEA and I think I have worked out a hack to make exactly what I want. I will need DH to drill two holes for me... If it works I'll post a picture tomorrow. If it doesn't work we have another paper holder (for $6).

Did you notice that the $50 one comes with 8 rolls of tape? (The $20 one does not.)

And Lakeshore has the rolls of tape for about $18 for four rolls. The other site has a set of 10 for $26.
