Hi,

We are taking a family vacation to an all-inclusive in Riviera Maya (with our 9 month old), and are thinking about options for a travel bed/beach shade. A friend of my husband's said she has used a Peapod travel bed for both purposes - on the beach during the day for shade, and as a bed at night. Has anyone tried this? We don't want to bring the pack n play (too heavy and bulky) or use the hotel crib (too unreliable). I think there will be enough umbrellas and tiki huts on the beach, but it would be good to have another option if not. We are also going to Ocean City for a couple days next week, and realized that we should have something for shade in the beach there - we better get a move on!

Any input on whether this product would be a good choice, or other recommendations?

TIA!

I think the PeaPod may be too hot and small for the beach. We are getting a Kelty Beach cabana http://www.rei.com/product/732931 for our 10 day trip to the SC this summer. They sell a medium sized one if this is too large. I like the fact that it has a floor (sandy food anyone?) and good ventilation.
As far as the sleeping arrangements go, I would look into the Bjorn travel crib http://www.amazon.com/BabyBj%C3%B6rn-Travel-Crib-Light-Blue/dp/B000XDYLEK
