I'd like to get the whole family on probiotics for various reasons. I need a dairy-free formula for DS and me, but not for DH and DD. I read that the best kinds are those that require refrigeration so I stopped in the neighborhood health food store and found several options, including a dairy-free formula. The price? $42 for 30 capsules. Surely there are cheaper options out there. Does anyone have any recommendations? Are the fresh/refrigerated kind really the best? Is there a way to order those online? I'm trying to figure out how those would be delivered and still be cheaper than buying in a b&m store.

We bought the powdered probiotics sold by Wholefoods - they are about $17 a jar. The advantage there is that you can adjust the dosing depending on the person (DS got a much smaller dose than the adults, of course.) Still expensive, but not as much as the capsules. We used it for DS's colic/indigestion and it worked wonders - even the ped was impressed.
