My insurance company (BCBS) said they would cover a breast pump from an in-network medical equipment company. Most of the companies I looked into offer the Purely Yours. Anyone know of a medical equipment company that offers Medela PIS or PIS advanced?

the Purely Yours is just as good. In some ways it is better. It's smaller, lighter and quieter. It takes batteries without needing a separate battery pack. It's a closed system so you can sell it when you are done with it. (no milk can get into the tubes, so it can be used by someone else later)

I used both a PIS and the Purely Yours with DS2, and they were virtually the same performance and feature-wise. I really liked the portability of the PY vs. the big black bag of the PIS.

I don't know where you are located but I was able to get a PIS with DS#1 and a Freestyle with DS#2 (5 years later) through Cambridge Medical. My insurance covered both and I had Harvard Pilgrim with one and BCBS with the other.
