I found this on one of my blogs

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter signed a bill that affords parents at larger companies up to six hours off from work a month to attend their children’s school functions, according to news reports.

However there are restrictions to the new law. According to Education News Colorado (http://ednewscolorado.org/page10404219.aspx), in order to qualify for the time off, you have to work for a company with 50 or more employees; “managers, independent contractors, domestic employees or agricultural workers” are not necessarily covered by the law and “unpaid time off from work can’t exceed 18 hours per school year or six hours in a month.” (June 2009)
