I have searched online for ideas for DD's second bday and we've decided on a bubble theme. To be done outside, of course. (Our house is tiny!) What ideas do you have to tie into this? So far we've got:

1. Have the kids wear swimsuits and have a wading pool of bubbles to make big bubbles with the kids in them.
2. Rent a bubble machine.
3. Have lots of bubble wands from dollar store for the kids to blow.
4. Invites with little blue circles inside plastic wrap against cardstock. Hard to describe. Got idea on-line.
5. Favors are little no-spill bubble buckets I got on after Easter clearance for $.75. Whoo-hoo.

That's it so far. What food? Should we play games? DD is so not interested in games, so I'm thinking that's out, but other "activity" ideas? We didn't have a big party for her for first birthday, so I'm wanting to invite family/friends this time. But of course, I fear rain . . . see afore-mentioned tiny house. How to people plan these things? I'm going to get an ulcer.

does someone have a canopy (or two or three) you could set up outside.....kids won't care if it rains...they'll just run around in their bathing suits in the rain...but having the tents/canopies would allow for some bubble activities and the adults to stay dry.....
What about doing some kind of "identify that bubble"...like people do with clouds....."oh, that bubble looks like a bunny, ice cream cone....."
They will probably just have fun running around and blowing bubbles!!

There is an old post (a few years old) here on BBB from someone about their child's bubble themed party. I remember it being really cool. They used little wading pools for bubble solution and had a bubble performer. The birthday child stood in a little plastic tub inside a wading pool filled with bubble solution and they used something (hula hoop maybe?) as a hige bubble wand, pulling a bubble up around the child. They had bubble themed cake and decor too. I can't recall who the poster was, but it looked like an awesome party.

You could see if there's a replica of Lady Gaga's Bubble Dress.

It would be a HUGE hit.

Round food like pinwheel sandwiches, grapes, etc. Polka-dot plates. Clear balloons.
