Hi. I have a baby bjorn and it seems a little tight/small for my now 10mo old DS. 23lbs. I haven't used it for months and am going on vacation. DS likes to be carried sometimes, and cries in his stroller. Are there any carries that are comfy for baby this size and for me too (I'm only 5'1")?

i have the beco butterfly II. we have used it a ton lately as ds2 has gotten a little bigger. i picture myself using it for a long time. i am actually surprised that no one has given advice yet, as many here are babywearers. the other popular one here is the ergo. this website may help http://www.thebabywearer.com/

i am sure others will chime in soon. hth.

I am 5'0" - I have a carrier from here (http://olivesandapplesauce.com/catalog.htm). I've had it since DS was about 5 months old. It's very similar to the Beco but I find it cushier. We used ours daily until just a few months ago - DS is just now willing to sit in a stroller. GL

You might want to look at Beco (my friends prefer the now retired 4th gens to the butterflies - you may consider buying/trying used)

Or Angelpack

I think you'll find the Ergo too big on your small frame.

I'm 5'2 and I have the Pikkolo. It's very versatile and if your husband or SO has a bigger or taller frame than you, you can both still use it as it is adjustable and can custom fit you.

what's difference with the 4th generation? tell me what i am missing.

eta: i researched and found this: http://continuum-family.blogspot.com/2008/01/beco-butterfly-vs-4th-generation.html
explains the difference quite nicely and helps uncertain buyers decide which would be best for them.

I am new to wraps myself although I have an ergo that I like a lot and did use the BabyBjorn with my two oldest.

I am also in the market for a wrap and one that wasn't too expensive since I have the ergo and during my research I found this one...

http://www.bundleboo.com/

and since the price seem reasonable and the videos I looked up on youtube (very helpful information) for the different wraps...I decided on this one over the moby wrap because it had the seat feature and being a novice in wrapping plus having a very heavy 6.5 mths old (over 27lbs now) I need all the help I can get. I am waiting to get it...

I don't know if it will work for you and your height but maybe it is worth looking into.

I just checked out that link. I find it curious that the butterfly is supposedly designed to make nursing easier - I have a friend who nurses and she returned the butterfly and sought out a 4th gen because nursing in the butterfly was so difficult

check out the baby k'tan. we LOVE ours. esp. for little ones. same idea/holds as a wrap, but much easier to put on. hth.

I love our Calyx, found at http://mamabydesign.com. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but it is very comfortable. It has contoured straps so it doesn't rub under the arms.

Good luck with whatever you decide! There are tons of options out there for larger babies. Definitely check out thebabywearer.com. They have reviews, articles, and forums.
