What kind of cable do you need to run your computer to a tv?

I think it depends on the TV, but our LCD TV connects to computers via USB cable IIRC. DH is "napping" (must be nice), so I'll ask him later.

Bill would probably be your best bet, LOL. he's our resident techie.

With my new(er) laptop, I use HDMI.

With my old laptop, we had to use a little converter thing that came with it.... There was a TV icon on the laptop near its plug in it was round. Then, you plugged the red/yellow/white AV cable into that.

OK, I just asked (sleepy) DH. He said you use a monitor cable and connect it to the PC port. He said that it has to be specifically for a computer and not all TVs have that. I'm not 100% convinced he's right, but that's what he said.

Personally, I'd be asking Bill, LOL.

I was asking my IT person @ work about this and he gave me an HDMI cable.

Regular old monitor (VGA) cable.

HDMI works but only if the TV *and* the computer do. Our TV does but our 6-month-old laptop does not.
