Update 7/14/09
Holly is hoping to be home maybe Thursday. She was excited to be getting a shower today and getting some real food :) She's still feeling very beat-up with the abdominal surgery, etc. and is still dealing w/ that aspect of recovery. She's awaiting her biopsy results, etc. as well.

thanks again for continuing to keep her (and her family) in your thoughts and prayers.

================================================== ==================

I know Kochh2 posted here a few days ago asking for P&PT for her upcoming surgery to remove her cancer. She is my dear friend IRL and I thank all of you for your P&PT.

She had mentioned in that thread that I would be receiving updates, so I am sure she is okay with me posting an update here and asking for your continued P&PT.

Her husband said she moved to a regular room last night. She went for a short walk in the hallways with him last night. She still can't have any food/drink.

I don't know much beyond that...I haven't talked to her by phone, etc. yet.

If you could please continue to hold her in your thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it. She is a cherished friend, and an amazing mom to her two children (an almost 5 yo DS and a 2 year old DD).

SHe had to undergo chemo and radiation prior to surgery to shrink the tumor as much as possible. She will have another round of chemo/radiation in a few weeks post-surgery.

hi everyone, thanks for all the prayers coming my way... I am unfortunately still here in the hospital, awaiting some signs of , uh, movement in my intestines... they will take me for an abdominal film today to make sure all is as it should be, since they think "come on and poop already, it's getting a ittle long".. making my mind race... hopefully it will happen soon. i've been walking laps today every few hours, probably up to a mile and a half today... trying to eat what i can and drink lots of water... but... you guys will understand this, I miss my kids more than ever. had a major breakdown today, i am never leaving them again, one week away from them is horrible :( please pray for poop so i can GO HOME!!! on a positive note, the path report showed that my lymph nodes were all clear! whoop!!!

I don't think I've ever prayed for poop before! But you've got a prayer for it now. I hope everything comes out soon so that you can head home to your babies.

I am so glad you had a clear pathology report on the lymph nodes- that must be a relief. I hope things get moving for you soon so you can head home. Warm thoughts and lots of heal soon/ feel better vibes heading your way.

May you see some action soon! I did the applesauce and prune juice thing - don't know if it will help you, but sending the idea your way with lots of p&pt.

Congratulations on the clear nodes! That is FANTASTIC news!

When DH had a bowel resection we waited forever for him to fart. He didn't have to poop, just fart. He couldn't go home until he produced. It came about 2 days later than the doctors expected it, but he's been...going strong dare I say, ever since!

I have bad traveler's tummy and often can't poop when I'm away from home or stressed. I read about it somewhere that it is a biological-cave man- survival thing to withhold poop if under duress. (Your cave man brain doesn't want you to be vulnerable at that time). Anyway, is there anything you do at home that might help you go in the hospital? I'm a big fan of reading on the pot. Maybe take a magazine or book in with you? Run water?

Great news on the pathology report, and we're rooting for your pooper to get in gear! :)
