We will be in need of a small (2-4 people) kitchen table in our new house and MIL has offered us their old one.......it's a very sturdy table...solid wood...and the right size.....but the tile and grout are old and yucky looking......
Is it possible for me to fix it? I know I can just put a table cloth over it, but the tiles are small, so any letter writing or craft projects will be hard to do as there won't be an actual flat surface to use......
My first thought was to somehow replace the tile with wood....but not sure if that's even possible.....
Second thought was to just get bigger tile pieces to replace the smaller ones....
and I guess if nothing else..is there a way I could just put down new grout and clean the tile to make it look nice??

The table we are getting has a solid piece of wood down the center....so it has two large tiled sections.
