What cars/trains fit in track on Sand/Water Table Lid? Any <3?

We have the Step 2 Sand/Water table, and sometimes I don't want to deal with the sand. DS will attempt to roll cars on that track on the lid, but none of the wheels fit. What trains or cars fit inside the track? Any that are safe for under 3 kids?
