Anyone in Virginia?

My sister lives in Virginia and her car was damaged while driving on the highway; one of the expansion joints popped up and did damage to the bumper and other things. Apparently there was a work crew just down the road - they were on the way to fix it.

Does anyone know who she's file a claim with for the vehicle damage? VDOT is giving her the runaround and I'm not having much luck on their website.

I think VDOT is the way to go. If she doesn't have luck, she should contact her local state legislator...that's what constituent services are for!

Yeah, VDOT makes the most sense, but no one knows who she needs to talk to. After being passed around to a bunch of people, she now is stuck with a person who just took her information and said they'd give it to someone who might be the right person. :shrug:

The legislator contact is a good idea - I'll pass that on to her.

Did she contact her insurance? What do they suggest? Seems like this is something they could follow up with VDOT about if that's appropriate.
