glider swing question

Okay, this is probably a stupid question but can one person operate a 2 person glider swing? We just got a new swingset and no one can make the glider go. Its not big enough to fit an adult and a kid and we only have one kid, so we have not been able to see if two can make it go...... It would seem like one ought to be able to use it....?

I should also add that the installers attached the glider to a single beam (not monkey bars) with no special bracket or anything so the whole swing is hanging from 2 points not 4.....but I have one that is a single person glider that hangs from 2 points, and appears to work the same way, and that works fine with one person....
