IKEA actually has a play kitchen now. $99 and "grows with the child."

That is soo cute. I was just there last week--and didn't see it.

I love how neutral it is... No if only we didn't already have one.... (that's blue and red in my terra cotta colored kitchen).

Its really cute. The burners "turn on". DS was enthralled. I wish they had come out with this earlier.

thanks for this post. I was already looking ahead to xmas when I thought I'd get him a kitchen. I think I'll get this for DS when I do. It's really cute.

Is there any reason it might not be okay for a 2 year old?

Ah, how minimalist! I heart Ikea for kids ...

ooooohhhh, I love it! We already have (and love) the little Educo kitchen , but if we didn't I would absolutely get this. I like that this one is a little bigger.

I LOVE IT.....too bad we got a Step 2. This is more my style :( and would have been so much less space it looks like!

Ditto. Would absolutely get this kitchen if I didn't have the Educo one too!

I love this. But, do you all think its a little pricey for ikea? I am not up on play kitchen costs so maybe it isn't, just wondering . . .

Oh, now I am in lust. We have an old hand-me-down little tykes kitchen that DD loves just fine, but it takes up more space (can't fit it anywhere near our real kitchen) and it's just plain ugly.

I'm not sure either, but this was my first thought, too.

I also think its pricey for Ikea. I would think $79.99 for that kitchen.

I like it but tend to agree that it should be priced lower for IKEA.

Especially since that is only for the bottom part of the kitchen. The microwave unit is an extra $39/

Yeah, it's cute but it does seem pricey for Ikea.

I would have to see it in person to decide. IKEA is like that... they have some stuff that is bottom of the barrel pricing, but the quality is low (but much lower than comparable quality stuff at Walmart/Target). Then they have stuff that is mid-range pricing, but the quality is much higher (like their kitchen cabinets, solid wood furniture, etc).

The pricing on this (with microwave) is comparable to the KidKraft wood kitchens and the Target brand ones. I'm guessing the quality is about that level as well, maybe slightly higher. It does add the lighted stove and the modern styling that is more like PB stuff as well as the adjustable height. If I were looking, this would make my list for sure just based on the neutral colors and styling.

Very nice! It would blend much more nicely with the grown up kitchen than our Kidkraft blue and red version does. It does seem to be a little pricey for Ikea though.

Has anyone seen this item in the store yet?????? On the Ikea website, it says that is is adjustable to 3 different positions. It also shows the height dimension as 22 7/8" - do you think this is at it's tallest position?????

My thought is that the 22 7/8" is at the lowest position -- short legs and w/out the microwave unit/shelf.
ETA: i haven't seen it IRL though.
