We're planning on visiting the Apple store before making a purchase, but am I better off buying online?

Does Apple have any super annual sales that I should wait for?

Are there any crafty secrets for shaving off some $$$ from the total cost?

thank you,
Kelly

Buy it online (store.apple.com)
Buy a refurb (the refurb link is on the bottom left side of the apple store home page). Take a look and note that the inventory changes daily, so check it for a few days straight to get a feel for what's there.
go through ebates.com
Buy applecare on ebay

You'll save ALOT of $$ that way...i've purchased plenty of imacs this way. Lots.

If you are a student check out and see if what the current discount is. When I bought mine as a freshman in college I got a great suite of products, and just a couple of weeks ago my cousin got an Ipod Touch free with his 13" laptop; not sure if that was the promo or if he got additional money off the purchase of the computer. MACs usually don't go on sale, but I am sure you can find little tricks to save money.

Or buy it online from JRMusic.com - free shipping (usually) and no tax (as long as you're not in NY). And 3% back from ebates. 5% back on live.com (bing.com?).
