We just closed on our new house and will be moving in early Sept. The sellers are generally very clean people but it seems that they had an elderly cat that they shut up in the "rec room" when they weren't home in case he had an accident which evidently was fairly often. As a result the room smells of cat pee....not knock you off your feet bad but strong enough that I'm going to have to do something before we move in. Luckily, the room has painted cinder block walls and one of those old linoleum type tiles on the floor which I'm hoping will make clean up easier.
I head that rinsing the floors with a dilute bleach solution might work. I was wondering if one of those steam cleaners would do the trick.
Any suggestions?

Haven't tried it on the surfaces you've got, but we've had good results with Anti-Icky-Poo.

Good luck!

We steamed cleaned the crap out of the areas that the cat used as a litter box. It didn't do anything. We soaked it in natures miracle. It didn't do anything. We ended up ripping up the carpet and soaking the concrete with natures miracle. That worked but the underside of the carpet still smelled. Then we discovered Woolite foam pet spray. It is wonderful. We tried it on a small spot in another room and the smell was gone. I would treat the concrete with natures miracle and spray the carpet with woolite. We bought ours at Home Depot.

Bac Out by BioKleen? I've never used it but I know a lot of people swear by it. I think you'll want something w/ enzymes.
