I'm decorating challenged and could use some advice. DD will be move to another room sometime in the fall in preparation for the arrival of DC2. DD was given a quilt when she was born that I'd like to use as the inspiration for the room. The room is currently a buttery yellow called Belgian Waffle which we plan to keep. The quilt is yellow, purple, lavender, and a grassy green. I will need curtains, sheets, blanket, and other decorative touches. I plan to display the quilt on the wall since it is crib size. The furniture is hand me down circa 1970's. It's real wood, Basset, but I'm not opposed to painting it. But, the retro style drawer pulls I don't think we can do anything with because of the style (inset and screwed in place from the back/inside of the drawer). I've included pics. I'd appreciate any suggestions on curtain colors and style (plain, gingham, toile?), etc.

Cute quilt! If it were me, I would paint the furniture white, maybe cream color. In my opinion, the furniture is too dark for a little girls room. Since the quilt will be hanging and it has lots of color, I would probably keep the bedding neutral and not too busy with prints. Land of Nod has adorable accessories, check it out at landofnod.com. Here are some cute curtains that might match:

Thanks for the links. I'll check those out. Hadn't thought about cream for the furniture, but that's definitely a possibility.

Anyone else have any ideas??? I know there's some creative, talented mamas out there!

PS: DH did most of the decorating of DDs nursery. I picked out the bedding but he found all the accessories. He's a total metrosexual!
