I'm ordering an old-fashioned looking Advent calendar and want to have it personalized. Because the calendar tradition began in Germany and DH and I are both mostly German, I thought it'd be nice to have a German word on top (instead of our short, boring last name).

I googled to try to find a word but couldn't come across one--can anyone help?

Here's what it needs to be...

* Only one word (no spaces) with a max of 8 letters
* Related to Christmas--we do celebrate Christmas so religious connotations would be nice but not necessary (examples in English of what I'm thinking would be "Joy" or "Noel")

Ack,my German friend is traveling in Germany! I can find out from her if you can wait a week or so.

I love challenges like this!

About.com has a German-English Christmas vocabulary list. There are some loooong words! Or two word phrases. This might work though:

Jesulein - Christ Child

Here's a link to the whole list: http://german.about.com/library/blcmasvoc.htm

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your help! I really like Jesulein and it'll fit perfectly with the 8 characters.
