A good friend of mine just had her 2nd baby and I want to send them something but am not sure what. Should we go with an edible arrangement, cookies, cupcakes, etc?

And what are your favorite places to get them from?

I love the edible fruit bouquets. I think they're beautiful, are a great sentiment and are fairly healthy too.

The salted caramels from Fran's. Check out the website for some amazing chocolate, caramels, and chocolate dipped fruit. It isn't cheap but it is the only thing I send now. I think it the stuff is that good.

I loved having lots of fresh fruit after both of mine, as well as chocolate. We usually do a huge fruit basket with chocolate tucked in.

Cheryl's cookies are delicious. Based out of Ohio. I got a cookie tower
from a relative in Ohio when my daughter was born. Yum!!

Harry and David fruit is fantastic. And usually comes with some other goodies like moose munch or cheese and crackers. Their pears, especially, are SO yummy!

I love getting a basket or weekender gift from Zingerman's. They also have a "new parent" gift basket (sold out).

Dancing Deer, they are in MA! :) But if you are shipping far (like to the West Coast) you have to be careful w/what you select. They give a freshness range, so you know how long it will be "good" for once it gets there.

We just sent MIL (in CA) some cookies for her bday and she said they were great!

Yay on Dancing Deer. Some of their items are tied to charitable contributions so you get good food and are helping others.

We often do Harry and David. People have bought us Zingerman's before. All have been good.

Corie, I adore those cookies you mentioned. I used to drive to a mall farther away to buy those.

Wow ~ all these great ideas :)

I'm sending her the salted caramels ~ our favorite snack in college was chocolate covered pretzels dipped in caramel so these will be perfect!!!
