D.O.N.E. Done!

Hi ladies! I know it's been awhile. I can honestly say I just haven't felt like posting much & haven't wanted any questions on how I'm feeling. My standard answer to EVERYONE has been "I'm hanging in there". Which is basically all I was able to do. Yesterday was my LAST radiation treatment!!! I'm burned & exhausted but SO happy it's over. That was, by far, much more difficult than CHEMO WAS!!! Probably because it was every day, M-F for six weeks and it literally sucked the life out of me. It's like being out in the sun every day, all day long. My poor girls had the worst summer ever! lol Yesterday was Emma's first day of first grade too....so ALL day school!!! Oh man, I can't even tell you how much I was LIVING for yesterday!!! :-) My hair has started to grow back now too, which is just strange after being bald for so long! :ROTFLMAO:So now I just have my last chemo drug, Herceptin, once every three weeks until next February. That is a CAKE walk compared to the past seven months! There are NO side effects with that.

Anyway, I've gotten a few messages from several of you so I thought I'd post. I'm hoping everyone is doing well & you & your families are happy & healthy! :grouphug:

Congrats!!! Once you get some strength back, you should take a spa day or something. (Although a day without kiddos probably feels like a spa day to you now!)

FWIW--my brother's family had a wretched summer last year that involved 2 major deaths in grandparents and his wife being on very restricted rest (including 2 weeks laying face down on a massage table) due to a detached retina. They all survived fine and this year took some fun family time. So--look forward to next summer!!:cheerleader1:

I replied to your PM...I didn't realize you'll be doing Herceptin, too. Amy will be doing that as well, after her initial chemo (although so far it looks like she's going to be lucky, no rads). I'm so inspired by the strong, tough survivors I know and have met who are kicking cancer's butt!

Summer is overrated anyway...bring on the fall, best season of the year! :wink2:
