You can accessorize this dress (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=48687&vid=1&pid=675533&scid=675533002) and be totally comfy. I got a similar one last year and wore the Hue Age Defying maternity hose from Motherhood. I felt wonderful, except for the fact we thought the wedding started at 6:30. It started at 6 so we only got there for the reception. :bag

What do you think about this dress? It comes in red and black. I was thinking I could wear it for Christmas and Thanksgiving as well.

That's a nice looking dress. I like the ON too.

http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=20843&N=1200058&pCategoryId=3363&categoryId=1160&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_1160&loc=LN&defaultColor=Black&defaultSizeType=Regular

I wish this one came in some other color than brown b/c the style looks really nice:
http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=20915&N=1200058&pCategoryId=3363&categoryId=1160&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_1160&loc=LN&defaultColor=Saddle%20Brown&defaultSizeType=Regular

I think this one is adorable but not sure how you'd feel about strapless:

This bronze satin one is $$ but I think it's really pretty:

But I like this $$ even more:

All that though and I still think I like the ON and other Nordstrom one because they could be more casual for other things around the holidays.

I did a google search and the Target link came up. They have some decent looking offerings. Of them, here are a few picks:
http://www.target.com/Lange-Target-Wrap-Dress-Gray/dp/B0027HTVV8/ref=br_1_5?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid3&searchNodeID=162410011&node=162410011&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=1&searchSize=150&id=Lange%20Target%20Wrap%20Dress-%20Gray

They have some super cheap dresses there. Some have potential.

Pea in the Pod:
This one might be my favorite of the dressy dresses

Could be casual enough for non-evening wedding but accessorized for nighttime wedding:

No advice here. I'm 7 months along and constantly searching for affordable and nice looking maternity dresses. I ordered the ATL dress from the previous post in fuschia earlier this summer. I was so disappointed. The quality is cheaper than my dresses from Kohls and it didn't look good on me at all. I have a couple ON dresses, but the quality isn't nice enough for a night wedding IMHO.

I just bought a basic black dress from JcPenney.com. I'm hoping it works for a wedding I have at the end of September. If not, I didn't pay for shipping and can return for free in store.

I ordered this dress from Gap and really loved it, but decided to return it b/c I didn't need to spend the money and had no occassion for it. If I had an October wedding coming up though, I def. would have kept it! http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=6035&vid=1&pid=664226

I <3 that dress, too ... bought it in teal for my sister's shower & will likely use it through the winter for Christmas parties, etc., and it's also "casual" enough that I can wear it to work.

The DH was stunned that I spent $60 on a dress for myself at Gap. (I am a Target athletic-wear type of girl usually.)

i went to a wedding last november and wore an isabella oliver dress... it so flattered the baby bump and looked very elegant. i think all of their clothes make pregnancy look elegantly sexy. i loved their clothing.

I have this dress from Old Navy in black and I wore to weddings and a Jr. League fundraiser when I was 5 mos. and 8 mos. pregnant and it was great. I really like the red color though, very nice.

This dress from Old Navy looks a tad more dressy too:

I also wore this non maternity dress to a wedding at 17 weeks pregnant and it was great and I could totally see it working a little bit longer too. I have also seen it in teal and purple at the store and on another friend at the same wedding. Very versitle dress.

I'll have to keep them in mind when I'm shopping for dresses to wear to my brother's wedding in January ... I'll be at 32+ weeks on his wedding day and would very much like to look elegant!

HTH,
Beth

So I ordered a few different dresses and this one seems to be the best fit. I ordered in bronze, but now they have it in red and black. I'm thinking of ordering the red one and then using it for Xmas and Thanksgiving. Is it inappropriate to wear red / cranberry to an evening wedding? If I keep the bronze - what color shoes should I wear?

Most taboos about wedding guests' attire are going by the wayside. My only caveat with wearing a "look-at-me" color like cranberry is how confident the bride is ... if she is not confident, she may feel like you stole her thunder.

I actually wore a dress in a similar cranberry/garnet color to two late-afternoon/evening weddings myself last fall ... with platinum peep-toe heels. Nobody cared, but the weddings were for people I consider contemporaries - my cousin and a good friend - so my POV may not mean much in your instance.

If you keep the bronze, you can either do a complementary shoe or go matchy-matchy. Metallics are still very "in" these days, so it'll probably be a bit easier than in past years. Personally, I'd go with something with a similar sheen (i.e. - satin) or a patent leather if you can find something nice in your size over regular leather.

(FYI - At my wedding, my mother wore a garnet colored dress, but that was only because I told her that the last time she wore it, she looked lovely in it. Besides, having my mom & my MIL dress in matching dresses was NOT gonna happen - MIL is a blonde with a tan while my mom is a brunette with fair skin, so very little would flatter both of them, so I gave them free reign. It was more important that they felt comfortable than that they matched.)

Great choice!

The only colors I know of that are inappropriate for a wedding are white, and perhaps black.

I'd say go with whichever color is more flattering to you. Bronze would be great for Thanksgiving and fine for Christmas. . . and red would be fine for Thanksgiving and great for Christmas.

I actually have bronze shoes. But if not, I think black would be OK.

Ooh, I think the red would be fine for the occasion(s).

For the bronze dress I would wear either black shoes or a subtle metallic.

:) Thanks for the reply - the bride is one of my best friends and since I will be 5.5 months pregnant and swear I look 7 months pregnant - I will not be stealing anyone's thunder for a very, very long time.
