For some reason I felt compelled to have the entire series of:

Seinfeld
Sex and the City

Thinking that I'd have time to go back and watch them, I don't know what I was thinking!

Oh and DH has The Simpsons....he has no time to watch those either.

Do you own any TV Series on DVD?

We have a lot of TV shows on DVD. We tend to not watch much TV when it's actually on, but get into the series later on DVD. Like you, we tend to collect the full series. Some of what we have is:

The Wire
Kath and Kim (the Aussie version)
the Sopranos
Curb your enthusiasm
Seinfeld
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
The Office (the British version)
Allen Partridge (also a British sit com-- we have an all regions DVD player so we get a lot of these).
Flight of the Conchords
Weeds
Northern Exposure
The Rockford Files (also British)
The Larry Sanders Show

Oh my... that's a lot...

ETA: Firefly

I forgot, I have Arrested Development. I got it as a gift and have to admit, I have not watched it since we saw most episodes when it ran on TV.

We have a bunch...

complete series:
Buffy
Angel
Firefly
Cowboy Bebop
My so called life
Sportsnight
Dead Like Me
Wonderfalls

Some, but not all seasons:
Sopranos
Six Feet Under
Twilight Zone
Simpsons
Arrested Development
X-files

That is all I can think of, but I am sure there are more. Now we Netflix more, but pre-Netflix we bought a lot.

eta: season 1 of Veronica Mars
season 1 of Fraggle Rock

I usually just watch the series on Netflix, but I do own Gilmore Girls.

I just rent them on Netflix if I haven't seen them before. In general, I'd rather watch something new than something I've seen before, even with movies.

We've been buying fewer now that we have Netflix and two DC's to spend $$ on instead of ourselves, but we still have a lot, I think. We do tend to watch them over and over so I guess it was money well spent but sometimes I shiver if I think about what these all cost us over the years.

Family Guy
Friends
Good Eats
My So Called Life (DH would want me to clarify that one's all mine! LOL)
Playmakers
Seinfeld
Simpsons
Six Feet Under
Sopranos
Star Wars Clone Wars (and that one's all his!)
West Wing

Things we've Netflix-ed and would like to own but probably won't spend on right now: maybe Dexter, definitely Weeds, maybe Battlestar Galactica

DH loves cop tv shows and things from when he was a kid. We tend to buy series when we are going overseas, and have been home for the last three years so our collection is a little dated. We have all the seasons out for:

Adam 12
Kung Fu
Sopranos
Alias
Monty Python
What is the one with Emma Peel...it is a spy one from the 60s.
Wonder Woman (that one is mine! :))
Star Wars (not TV, but he wanted all of them)
Some western things I don't watch...
At least 3-4 other cop/spy series from the 60s. I can't keep them straight.

FWIW I love watching the series commercial free, on my own time. Even better that DVR.

Gilmore Girls (LOVE LOVE LOVE that show)
Sex and the City
Firefly
Family Guy (very lowbrow humor - love that show)
Scrubs (not the whole series, a couple of seasons)
News Radio (with Andy Dyck and Phil Hartman)

Why did I not know that My So-Called Life was available??? It's funny to see it mentioned so many times in this thread - guess we all are about the same age, but I never realized it was that popular.

I have Sex & the City, and most of Seinfeld. We take some out from the library (currently about to start Twin Peaks, which I had thought about purchasing).

We don't own any now. We used to have some of the Sex and the City but we never watched them so I gave them to a friend. We rent them from a local store that has 99 cent nights, get them from the library or occasionally buy them from iTunes (which is such a waste of money, but sometimes I do it anyways).

We have a very small number of DVDs...besides the kids ones and 8 exercise ones, we have about 6-7 movies on DVD.

We only have Seinfeld and they were my salvation during my middle of the night nursings with DD. We had it on a tiny shelf in her room and I would watch one episode per side (she was a crazy long nurser).

I'd love to have Six Feet Under.

We also have the boxed sets of all James Bond movies and can't live without those-we often watch about two per week when it's a slow TV night.

Yikes, we have a lot of $$$ invested in TV on DVD. That being said, we only have the most basic channels (like 8?) and don't have DVR or anything. Most of our shows we watch on DVD.
Gilmore Girls
Friends
I Love Lucy
Smallville
Battlestar Gallactica
Buffy
X-Files
How I Met Your Mother
The Office

We are waiting for Firefly to go low on Blu-ray and will probably buy more of Bones after seeing Season 1. Alias is another one we might buy if the price were right. I'd love to get more of the older shows like Andy Griffith too.

We have:

Frasier (I dearly miss this show!)
Seinfeld
The Cosby Show
Home Improvement (the ones we can find so far)
The Bob Newhart Show - the old one, but I'd love the Newhart (Inn) ones too
Wings

I think there are a couple more, but off the top of my head I can't think of them. We like things we can watch together as a family, so usually older stuff!

Lost (1,2,3 Will eventually get the rest)
Six feet Under

If I could get Living Single and the Practice on DVD, I might be tempted.

Oh, and I made a mistake. We own Maude on DVD...I bought it for my mother for her birthday right before she died and we watched it together that week. So it's around here somewhere. I am not a sentimental person and known for shedding stuff often, but I don't think I will ever get rid of it.

OH, we LOVE Burn Notice - fantastic show. But, we are watching it as it airs and don't own it on dvd, so that is why I didn't mention it. I have many other faves that we either watch as they air or Netflix.

None! Although I tried collecting the season DVDs of Nip/Tuck (don't think anyone's mentioned this one yet), but only ended up with 2 seasons worth and I still haven't finished watching it yet! If I had to choose, I'd collect the Little House on the Prairie DVDs. I've seen each episode about 3-5 times and still love it!
