IL's totally surprised me with a Kindle 2 on my birthday yesterday. They are incredible. I spent the evening looking at beautiful sleeves on Etsy, but I've already dropped it. Thankfully it is fine but I obviously need something to protect it while I'm using it. What are you ladies using? The 2 doesn't come with a cover.

I haven't received my cover yet, but I ordered the M-Edge Prodigy Hinge Jacket in marbled red leather. It looks like it will be a good one (plus it's pretty :) ) - it has the locks into the actual Kindle holes on the left side as well as corner attachments on the right side. My parents have just the basic Kindle 2 cover from Amazon and like it (it locks into the holes on the left too, but doesn't have the corner braces on the right side). You may want to consider the warranty for the Kindle - it covers 1 drop. My stepdad dropped his on tile and it broke, no hope of fixing (and it was in the cover although it was open). He went ahead and bought another one and I ended up getting the refurb/used one Amazon offered for a significant discount to replace the broken one.

Here's a link to the cover I got.

Thanks. That is actually the same cover I was considering before i found these:

Now I have to decide whether I want the "book" or the "flip" style.
The flip would be great for following recipes in the kitchen (allrecipes.com is accesible from the browser). The book style might be better for everyday....hmmm.

Get the warranty!!! My oldest dropped it the first week I had it and broke the screen. Thank goodness I had the warranty. I have the "official" Kindle case. I like it but it isn't as protective as it could be. My husband has the one Tmphilo posted for the Kindle 1.0. It is probably more protective than the one I have.

I've got the two year warranty. Yay. Thanks IL's. I'm sure I will end up needing it.

Oh, those are pretty too! I got my red one yesterday, it's even nicer than pictured online! I really like that the Kindle feels really secure in the case - the hooks into the actual Kindle. Good luck picking one, there are some nice ones out there!

I have the original Kindle. Does the 2 not come with a case like the original did?
